IRA Charitable Rollovers And Giving Through Retirement Plans
IRA Giving
Donors 70.5 and older with a traditional IRA are eligible to give up to $100,000 from their IRAs to Charitable organizations. Generally speaking, these gifts are always tax free and represent one of the smartest ways to support the causes you love.
If you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) — donors 72 or older — an IRA gift can count towards the RMD!
Giving From your Retirement Plan
Give your IRA or 401(K) to charity. You may find that your retirement plan can be an excellent additional "pocket" from which to make all or a portion of your charitable gifts each year.
